The BSCC was privileged to be awarded several grants and rollovers to provide monies for final engineering and permitting for the planned improvements at the Big Sky Community Park, ball field activities and improvements, tennis program support, public services, and construction of the Spur Road Trail.

Parks and Recreation - Grant monies were used to support a variety of Big Sky Community Corporation programs this past year including: rerouting the road to the Community Tennis Courts that are located at Ophir School, purchase of wind guards, balls, and nets for area tennis courts, and replacement equipment at the softball field.

Public Services - Fondly referred to as our "toilets and trash" grant, these monies were used to provide cleaning and stocking service to public facilities at the Park and Ousel Falls, start-up and shut down "deep cleanings" of these public facilities, and portable toilets at softball, Crail Ranch, and miscellaneous maintenance of all BSCC assets. The 2008-2009 public service grant also allowed the BSCC to obtain matching funds for a hazardous fuels removal and clean-up project of the popular Ousel Falls trail.

Park Construction – Working with a team of qualified and dedicated volunteers, this grant provided for a portion of the fees required to complete final engineering and permitting for Phase I improvements at the Big Sky Community Park. A contractor was also competitively bid and selected as part of the porject. Thanks to this grant, the BSCC is “shovel-ready” to begin construction of several major improvements at the Big Sky Community Park including all site grading, installation of all underground infrastructure (power, water, sewer, cable), second softball field and concession plaza, soccer field, paved parking, and additional park access trails.

Spur Road Trail – The Spur Road Trail was completed and now provides pedestrian connectivity between Ophir School and Ousel Falls Trailhead through Town Center.

Our sincere thanks to the Resort Tax Board of Directors for your continued support of our mission to provide parks, trails, and programs for the Big Sky Community to enjoy. We hope the Board has noticed the many fundraising activities the BSCC Board and corps of volunteers have undertaken this season as we work to raise funds to further acquire additional trail easements, construct trails and user access, and make much needed improvements to our Big Sky Community Park.
